I am a Registered General Psychologist and Counsellor who is able to provide individual counselling services to privately-funded clients as well as under Medicare with a referral from a GP (Mental Health Care Plan). In addition to providing general psychological counselling for the most common mental health issues and mood disorders such as depression and general anxiety, I am keen to help people experiencing feelings of confusion, disorientation, grief and loss, sadness, frustration, anger and/or PTSD as a result of work-related stress, job loss, relocation, migration, adoption, childhood trauma or other major or 'minor' traumatic experiences, including existential crises in their private or professional lives. I am also happy to work through any relationship issues with individuals.
In addition to a wealth of life experience living in Australia and overseas, my counselling skills are based on a unique constellation of formal training in Psychology, Counselling and Mediation (ADR), combined with further training in family & relationship counselling, Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Narrative Therapy, ACT and EMDR. My work with clients is also strongly influenced by the writings and practice of approaches that provide an opportunity to re-examine, reinterpret, re-story, reframe and reprocess life’s experiences in the present moment, assisting you to live life differently now and in the future, based on your inherent strengths, rather than 'fixing' your 'illness'.
